🚀 We’re Hiring: Senior Design Engineer | Scena Ltd (Croydon, CR0 4RR)

Based in Croydon, Scena is one of the UK’s leading creative construction and set design companies, with over 40 years of experience designing and building props, staging and sets for television, film, museums, theatres, conferences, exhibitions and the music industry worldwide. 

We’re looking for a Senior Design Engineer / Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. This role suits someone with structural engineering experience who can translate a designer’s drawing into mechanical drawings for our workshop staff to construct and build.

We work with iconic brands around the world, so there is the opportunity for both UK and international travel. 

Please note: This is not an HVAC, mechanical services, or building services role.

Skills Required:

• Minimum of 5 years industrial design experience

• Educated to a minimum HNC/HND or equivalent standard

• Strong in structural and mechanical disciplines (Mechanical as in motor and mechanisms. Not HVAC, not mechanical services, not building services)

• Ability to provide manufacturing drawings and to liaise with the onsite workshops is essential

• Software experience with AutoCAD and Inventor would be advantageous

• Ability to work to tight deadlines with good accuracy

• Good team player, to work well and integrate within a team environment

• Self-motivated and able to work to your own initiative

• A flexible approach to working hours will be required on occasion

• There will be a need to travel to site on occasion and a valid passport will be essential

• Experience within the scenery construction industry would be an advantage but not essential
