Thinkwell Group tasked Scena with designing and delivering the structural framework for an innovative LED mesh installation combined with custom printed glow fabric. The project comprised two massive 5m x 42m murals installed 10 meters above floor level, including a challenging 9-meter radius curved section that required specialized engineering solutions.
Scena's engineering team designed and fabricated steel frames that supported both the LED mesh and custom printed fabric layers, ensuring structural integrity at height while accommodating the complex curved geometry. The team developed a bespoke tensioning system to maintain perfect fabric registration and image quality across the expansive murals, preventing sagging or distortion over time. Working within a tight one-week installation window, Scena's crew managed the complete installation including the large-format printed cloths, LED integration, and final tensioning adjustments.
The project showcased Scena's structural engineering expertise and ability to deliver complex technical solutions under demanding timelines. The result is a dramatic, illuminated feature that enhances the visitor experience at one of the UK's most popular attractions, combining LED technology with traditional scenic craft to create a magical, immersive environment.
